Improvisation, Scene Study, and Acting for the Camera Explore the world of theatre games and improvisation that will set the stage for every theatrical endeavor. Learn how to audition, how to interpret the scene and character, develop a monologue for auditioning, stage terminology, and how to build monologue for auditioning. This class will focus on preparation in all three areas. There are many performance opportunities throughout the year. Please call for an audition. There is a $100 per season costume fee. Pay Workshop Fee Purchase 4 tickets Private Music Instruction $88 / month (30 minutes per week) $132 / month (45 minutes per week) $176 / month (60 minutes per week) PCA offers private instruction that enables the student to specialize in Classical, Jazz, Rock, Gospel, and Musical Theatre. There are no make-ups for lessons missed by the student. Missed lessons are charged at the regular lesson rate. Lessons that the instructor cancels or when PCA is closed due to weather will be made up at a later time. Spot lessons are offered at a flat rate of $60 per hour. Students should be prepared to purchase 3-5 books each season. An Associate teacher is typically a high school or college student that is supervised by a senior staff member. Lessons with Associate Teachers are $60 per month. Music Recitals are year end performances. Recital participation is a requirement of PCA programs. Students will be placed into classes based on previous experience (for returning students) or by instructor evaluation (for new students). If at any time the instructor feels a student needs to be moved to another class – the parent/guardian will be advised. Consistent attendance is a must for every dancer. Students missing multiple classes will be removed from the program. Missed classes may ONLY be made up if a phone call is received 2 hours prior to the student’s class – tuition will not be credited for missed classes. *Ballet Pointe must also take Thursday Conditioning class. Multiple tuition discount does not apply. Cats Dance Production This Broadway blockbuster will come to life in full action on the Black Box stage. Exciting choreography and costumes will be featured in this performance opportunity that will incorporate all disciplines of dance. Tuition $75/month (5 months) Rehearsals Wednesday 5:30-7: January -May 12 All ages Dress Rehearsal: May 19&20 from 5:00-7:00pm. Shows: May 21, 22, 23 at 7:00pm and May 22, 23 at 300pm. Costume Fee: $50 Performances in PCA’s Black Box. Multiple tuition discount does not apply. Baton Combo Each class will begin with stretching and strengthening, followed by learning the basics of baton twirling, marching and dance. Students are required to participate in parades and performances. Parade/performance uniform will include black pants and hot pink t-shirt( sweat shirt for colder events) which must be purchased through PCA. Competitive Twirling Teams Teams are divided by age and skill level. Students must follow all Premier Twirlers/PCA guidelines. Auditions July 15 at 7pm. Twirling Attire: tank style body suit, cotton shorts, flesh tights, and black twirling sneakers – hair must be secured away from face in either a bun or ponytail. Dance Attire: bodysuit (any solid color) - pink or tan tights - skirts are permitted or cotton shorts...street clothes/shoes are not permitted in class. Shoes depend on the class....pink ballet, black taps, black jazz. |
